I’ve been nominated for this award twice this month… time for me to stop cooking and start writing π.
I love the idea of the Versatile Blogger Award – like a lot of awards its a great way to get to know a bit more about the person behind the blog but this one is a bit different because there are no set questions, I get to choose what I want to say about myself. I’ve also received the Liebster Award in the past, which you can read here. I’ve tried to give you some different facts about me this time.
I have been nominated by Kate Jones Β (via twitter) and The little dismaid. Both of these ladies are truly versatile – their blogs cover a lot of topics from frugal tips and interviews (Kate) to book reviews and travel, with a side of Disney Β (The little dismaid). Both blogs make me smile as well giving me something to think about. Go and check them out!
7 facts about me:
1. I’m one of those annoying people who has to be doing something.
I’ve always struggled with having nothing to do, I’m not a fan of Spa days or beach holidays. Just as well really – I’ve got four young kids, a part-time job and I write a blog on the side. Not much chance of me finishing my to do list anytime soon!
2. I used to love to read (when I had time, before I had kids).
I always found reading a good way to help me switch off before bed (now i tend to just pass out). My favourite book is Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve read it. I heard last year that it’s being made into a TV series with David Tennant and Michael Sheen, and I’m beyond excited about it.
3. I love getting out-of-town for a wander.
A good walk has always cleared my head and is just about the only exercise I get round to doing. Β I found geocaching a few years ago – you use a gps or download an app to find hidden containers all over the world. Yes, its very geeky but great fun.
4. I always try to see the positive
Everyone goes through difficult phases in their life. Looking for the positives – any positives – in a bad situation has definitely helped me get through the tough times.
5. I’d rather have a girls night in than a night on the town
Maybe that’s because I’m getting older (!). Life is so hectic these days that I don’t get to see my mates as often as I’d like. When I do i’d much rather be able to have a proper catch up without worrying about getting bumped into in a crowded bar or having to shout over music (yep, thats it, I’m an old person π).
6. I’m not a morning person.
Don’t even bother talking to me until I’ve had a cup of coffee of a morning. Better still, wait until I’ve got the school run out of the way.
7. I’d love to travel more
I’ve found some inspiring travel blogs over the last few months. With four young children I can’t see me going long haul any time soon but I’ve been to Australia and a lot of European cities and Iceland, Hawaii and the Inca trail are all on my bucket list.
My nominations
I thought I’d struggle to find 15 bloggers to nominate for this award but I’ve found so many lovely blogs since I started mine last October that it was hard to cut my nominations down. So here they are…
Nominees can keep the Versatile Blogger Award going by writing a post thanking the person who nominated (me π), and linking up to their blog. Then give seven facts about yourself to help readers get to know you a bit better, and finally nominate 15 bloggers whose blogs you enjoy.
Thank you! I will try and get this done soon π

Oh it is awesome! You inspire me as well. 4 babies. I came from a family of 9 and I wonder how my parents did it! I look forward to reading more about your food adventures with your family. God bless,
